The Hudson Junior Invitational

The Hudson Junior Invitational Golf Tournament is held every year here at The Country Club of Hudson in Hudson, Ohio. This year marks the 35th annual outing of this very special event. The Hudson Junior Invitational Golf Tournament is the second oldest junior invitational held in the country. Last year’s event attracted over 800 applicants from all across the United States as well as numerous foreign countries with 144 outstanding young golfers participating in the 2012 event. The event started as a way to showcase young talent from the local area competing against invited players from others parts of the country and it has grown significantly from that initial concept to be the tournament it is today.

Our alumni include numerous PGA and LPGA players most notably are Ben Curtis, John Daly, Jim Furyk, Lee Janzen, Billy Andrade, Phil Mickelson, Mike Weir, Rickie Fowler, Michelle McGann, Beth Bauer and Grace Park. Phil Mickelson, one of our inductees into the Hudson Junior Hall of Fame and the winner of the event in 1986, had this to say about the tournament, “The Hudson Junior was one of the highlights of my junior career. It was exciting and rewarding. It gave me an introduction to many players I play with today”.

Besides being an outstanding tournament attracting today’s talented young golfers, the Hudson Junior Invitational Tournament has provided over $750,000 to a wide variety of charities. This year our charities will include Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, Junior Achievement and the Hudson Boosters Club. The cost for hosting an event of this magnitude comes completely from the donations we receive from corporate sponsorships, participation fees for the Junior Am tournament we hold in conjunction with this event, player participation fees, individual donations from the general Hudson community and donations from the members of The Country Club of Hudson.
